Before and After With a Water Smart Irrigation Professional

Established landscapes do not need to be watered everyday if the irrigation system is operating efficiently.

Here is an area over an underground parking garage that only had 8 inches of soil. Underneath the soil was landscape cloth and about 6 inches of gravel. Due to drought, heat and improper watering, the grass eventually died out.

WSIP certified company Nutri-lawn Burlington is one of the best when it comes to rejuvenating any outdoor landscape and provided a before and after image of one of their properties.

“We went over the area twice with an aerator to open up lots of holes, followed by a slit seeding in two different directions. (So, the grass came up in a cool diamond pattern.) Then we added an application of turf starter fertilizer following by a double pass of composted top dressing. We set the irrigation up to come on for about 10 minutes three times a day for about 2 weeks. After that we changed the controller to come on once a day for about a week. Once the grass was about 3 inches tall, and had been cut once, we set the controller to come on once a week for a deeper and less frequent watering.”
